Systems Project

Modeling congestion before it becomes a bottleneck.

Web Traffic Simulator explores how requests move through a network under load, how routing decisions impact throughput, and where bottlenecks start to appear when demand spikes across the graph.

C++ Graph Algorithms Networking Concepts

What It Does

The simulator creates a controllable environment for testing how traffic distributes across a network, where queues begin to form, and which paths create more resilient outcomes when the system is under pressure.

Focus Areas

  • Congestion modeling across connected nodes
  • Routing efficiency under changing demand
  • Packet prioritization for higher-value traffic

C++ Shortest Path Logic Queue Modeling Network Simulation

Project Story

I built this project to better understand the tradeoffs behind routing decisions in distributed systems. Rather than treating “traffic” as an abstract concept, the simulator turns it into something visible: requests pile up, alternate paths open or fail, and the network starts to reveal where its real limits are.

That made the project a useful bridge between algorithmic thinking and systems thinking. The interesting part was not just computing a route, but comparing what happens when ideal paths collide with real constraints like contention, priority, and scale.
