What This Tool Does

CodeRecall is built for memorizing algorithms and coding patterns by forcing recall instead of rereading. The left editor holds the source solution, the right editor is where you type everything back from memory, and the progress stats update in real time while you work.

Recommended Flow

1. Pick a course tab at the top: `CSE 3500`, `CSE 3150`, or `LeetCode`.
2. Open `Selections` and choose the functions you want in your daily rotation. `Pick Random 6` is the fast default if you want a preset workload.
3. Click a function chip on the right side of the control bar to load that implementation into the target editor.
4. Read through the function once or twice while it is visible. Focus on the structure, edge cases, helper variables, and loop conditions.
5. Press `Load & Blur` to hide the solution and reveal the function description overlay.
6. Re-type the full solution in the right editor from memory. Spacing is forgiving for scoring; on mobile, capitalization is forgiving too.
7. Watch `Accuracy` and `Progress` to see how close your recall is. Wrong characters are highlighted as you type.
8. When you finish the function exactly, the completion popup appears. If `Auto Next` is enabled, the next selected function loads automatically.

Controls

• `Load & Blur`: loads the currently selected function and toggles the blur overlay on the reference editor.
• `Selections`: opens the study-set planner for the current course only. Each course saves its own daily function set.
• `Auto Next`: moves to the next selected function after a perfect completion.
• Function chips: click the function name to switch prompts; use the checkbox to include or exclude it from today’s set.
• Mobile shortcut bar: inserts common coding symbols into the typing editor without digging through the phone keyboard.
• `Esc`: closes the open popup.

Study Tips

• Do short, repeated reps instead of one long pass. Six functions done cleanly is usually better than twenty half-focused attempts.
• If you miss a section repeatedly, slow down and name the steps out loud before typing.
• Use the description overlay as a cue, not as a substitute for remembering the code skeleton.
• Once a function feels automatic, keep it selected for one more day before rotating it out.
